Financial support for those in crisis

Oxfordshire Resident Support SchemeDo you know someone elderly or vulnerable struggling with rising living costs? The Oxfordshire Residents Support Scheme, run by Oxfordshire County Council, is here to help those who are facing financial hardship. The scheme offers short-term support for essentials like food and credit for gas and electric prepayment meters. In some cases, assistance can also be provided with white goods, furniture, and clothing.

This support is designed for one-off crises or emergencies, ensuring those who receive it get what they need to stay comfortable and safe. Additionally, the scheme can connect residents with other sources of support for long-term needs.

Citizens Advice Data Insights: Debt: Barriers to Recovery

Data insights adJoin us on Tuesday, 25 February, 2-3 pm, for our first Data Insights event of 2025 as we explore debt, a troubling legacy of the cost-of-living crisis. We have broken the record for both the number of people coming to us for help with debt, and the size of the debt burden, even as cost-of-living pressures ease for some.

At our February Data Insights event a panel of experts will explore our latest data, uncovering what’s driving people into debt, the challenges they face, and how the government can better support people in debt forced to make dangerous cuts to essential expenses.

Guest speakers:

Helen Undy, Chief Executive, Money and Mental Health Policy Institute

Dianne Lyons, Chief Executive Officer, Citizens Advice Leeds.

We’ll also take the first look at our winter data, comparing this winter with previous years. Has the crisis truly eased, or is it just the governments and the media's perception of what defines a crisis that has changed?

Register now to uncover how the cost-of-living crisis is evolving and how rising costs and mounting debts continue to create barriers to recovery for those hardest hit.

Important Update: We Are Becoming Citizens Advice Oxfordshire

We are pleased to inform you that from 1st April 2025, three of our local Citizens Advice offices will merge to become Citizens Advice Oxfordshire. They are:

The merger will allow us to improve operational efficiencies, such as sharing IT resources and support, and invest into frontline services to strengthen the help we provide.

You will continue to receive the same high-quality service, and your data will remain secure and confidential. If you would like more information on how we handle your personal data, please refer to Citizens Advice Privacy Policy

The data controller for the new organisation is Citizens Advice West Oxfordshire.
