Who can volunteer with Citizens Advice? Don’t you have to be a solicitor?

Anyone can volunteer with Citizens Advice Oxford.

Our advisers, assessors, receptionists, admin assistants, money coaches, fundraisers, community drivers, transport telephone assistants etc… come from all backgrounds and have a range of different experience.

We provide the training and support you need.

Some roles require more time, regularly, than others. We have roles to suit everyone’s schedules and skills.

If you want to find out more, visit our main volunteering page or e-mail us at recruitment@cab-oxford.org.uk.

Will I have to fill out an application form or have an interview?

We do have an online application form to apply to volunteer with us, but if this worries you, you can come along and we can help you complete it.

Some roles, like “adviser” or “assessor” do require an interview – but it’s not formal. For all other roles, we do like to meet you for an initial chat. We just want to make sure we understand what skills you already have and what interests you. It’s your chance to ask us questions!
